In its efforts to enter the health and food supplements sector, Kerala Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation, popularly known as Milma, has introduced a protein-rich dietary supplement along with two coffee-based milkshakes.
Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development Minister J Chinchurani unveiled the protein drink Nutrilevel by handing it over to MILMA Chairman KS Mani.
The Minister also launched two milkshakes of Milma – Café Mocha and Cold Coffee, keeping in mind the taste of the young generation. Nutrilevel is available in 200 ml packets, while Cold Coffee and Café Mocha are available in 180 ml cans.
Chinchurani said the launch of Nutrilevel is an important step by Milma, as diabetic patients can also consume the protein-rich health supplement. Milma spends 85 percent of its profits for the welfare of dairy farmers through milk cooperative societies. By 2030, Milma aims to achieve a turnover of ₹10,000 crore.
Mani said Milma launched new products as part of its diversification to attract consumers. This health drink will be highly beneficial for diabetics and fitness conscious people. This product has the potential to bring far-reaching changes in the health sector.
Milk is the basis of Nutrilevel, a nutritious meal replacer. It is a combination of protein, lactose, sucrose, minerals and vitamins. One packet of vanilla flavored Nutrilevel protein drink contains 14 grams of protein, which helps maintain muscle health and energy levels. A note issued by Milma said that this chemical and preservative free sterilized drink will have a shelf life of one year.
Unlike flavored milk drinks, café mocha and cold coffee are thick and tasty milkshakes available in attractive tins.
