India coffee exports 2025 have crossed the historic $2 billion mark, registering a strong 22 percent growth over the previous year. The surge has been driven by higher global coffee prices and robust demand, particularly from the Russian Federation, according to the latest data released by the Coffee Board of India.
Based on export permits issued during the year, shipments are expected to reach $2.058 billion in 2025, compared to $1.679 billion in 2024, marking the highest export value ever recorded for Indian coffee.
Export Volumes Dip, But Value Surges in India Coffee Exports 2025
While India coffee exports 2025 recorded impressive growth in value, total export volumes declined by about 4.5 percent to 3.48 lakh tonnes, compared to 4.02 lakh tonnes last year. Despite the volume drop, export earnings rose sharply due to favorable international prices.
In rupee terms, export value jumped 27 percent to ₹17,911 crore, up from ₹14,046 crore in the previous year. Average realization per tonne increased by 33 percent, reaching ₹4.65 lakh per tonne, reflecting strong global price trends.

Exports of Arabica parchment coffee rose by 5.5 percent to 38,326 tonnes during 2025. Even more significant was the performance of Arabica cherry, which saw a sharp 47 percent increase to 11,775 tonnes, highlighting growing global preference for premium Indian Arabica varieties.
Mixed Performance for Robusta Coffee

Exports of Indian-produced instant coffee increased by 12 percent to 46,954 tonnes during the year. However, re-exports of instant coffee declined marginally as India continued to import green beans for value addition.
Overall, total instant coffee exports under India coffee exports 2025 grew by 2.68 percent, reaching 1.53 lakh tonnes, indicating steady global demand for Indian instant coffee products.
Russia Emerges as Key Market in India Coffee Exports 2025
Although Italy remained the largest buyer of Indian coffee with 60,688 tonnes, exports declined from last year’s levels. The Russian Federation emerged as the second-largest buyer, overtaking Germany.
Exports to Russia rose by nearly 20 percent to 31,505 tonnes, while shipments to Germany dropped sharply by 32 percent to 28,840 tonnes. Other major destinations included the UAE (21,172 tonnes) and Belgium (19,870 tonnes).
